Chapter History

The Tau Chapter of Sigma Kappa was founded at Indiana University in the year 1918.

In winter 2016, the Tau chapter was recolonized. Over 160 women came together with the same dream of friendship, love, and sisterhood.  In the spring, the chapter was formally installed by the national president of Sigma Kappa. Since then, our chapter has grown and flourished.  Each woman is unique in her beliefs and talents, but all members strive toward a common goal of helping one another and the surrounding community.

The Tau Chapter of Sigma Kappa is one of the 22 sororities that belongs to the National Panhellenic Council that currently exists on the IU campus.  We participate in formal recruitment each spring semester and always look forward to welcoming new members into the mystic bond.
